The Property
Nestled in the heart of Prainha de Baixo, less than 1 km from the sea, this centuries-old rural property invites guests to enjoy a peaceful and authentic stay. Carefully restored, it comprises two houses—the Main House and the Atafona—converted into four comfortable holiday accommodation units, set within spacious grounds enclosed by traditional basalt stone walls typical of Pico Island and the Azores.
Guests can enjoy shared areas designed for relaxation and socialising, including a garden with lawn and fruit trees, a welcoming covered porch with dining tables, a barbecue and outdoor wood-fired oven, as well as a terrace with sea views, perfect for unwinding.
The property also offers a dedicated laundry area for guests’ exclusive use, equipped with a clothesline, washing machine and tumble dryer, along with private on-site parking, ensuring comfort and peace of mind throughout the stay.

The Beginning
Cá Por Casa Pico was the name chosen for the project that began to take shape in 2017, born of a fortunate coincidence—the meeting of a place and two people in search of a new way of life.
The property was love at first sight. The location, Prainha, was a long-held passion. Pico was synonymous with home.
The restoration work was slow and demanding, guided by a careful balance between respect for the past and adaptation to modern comfort.
Over time, we were able to plant and watch the surrounding vegetation grow—hedges, fruit trees, endemic species, native plants and exotic varieties that now shape the garden and flower beds.
